What a Clinical Preceptor Costs – and What You Are Guaranteed
Student Preceptor Matching With Preceptor Connect
Most preceptor matching services make you fill out a form before they will tell you what anything costs. We would rather you know up front, decide if it fits your budget, and then contact us if it does! Below is what our fee structure is, what is included, what happens if a placement falls through, and how school honorariums factor in.
Preceptor Cost & Payment FAQs
How much does a clinical preceptor cost?
Pricing varies depending on the number of hours, the location, and the preceptor. Generally, they are as follows: 0-99 hours: $1,200 and 100+ hours: $15/hr. Feel free to contact us about discount options for multiple bookings.
Are there other fees besides the hourly cost?
There is a $100 placement fee to start the search. It respects our preceptors’ time by confirming that students are serious about following through, and it is applied toward your final cost. There are no other fees associated with our services.
Do you offer payment plans or financing?
We currently do not offer payment plans or financing.
My school offers an honorarium for preceptors. Can I use that?
Yes! We subtract the cost of your preceptorship from the amount your school covers.
Do you offer discounts for booking multiple rotations?
If you need placements for more than one semester, we can look at your full rotation schedule and put together pricing for your collective rotations rather than handling each semester separately. Booking ahead also gives us more time to find the right preceptor for each rotation. Reach out via our contact form or call 520-271-2269 to talk through your schedule.
Preceptor Connect Timeline & guarantee FAQs
How long does it take to find a preceptor?
Timelines vary because every student’s needs are different, but on average we find a suitable preceptor within two weeks. If we cannot, we let you know as early as possible so you have time to search elsewhere, and your search fee is refunded.
What are my guarantees?
Our goal is a hassle-free experience from the time you contact us to the time you finish your rotation. The specifics are laid out in the contract. In general, if there are issues with your preceptor or rotation that are outside of your control, we first make every effort to find you a replacement preceptor. If that is not possible, your money is refunded according to the contract’s refund policy.
What happens if my preceptor drops out partway through my rotation?
Contact us right away. We will work to find you a replacement preceptor so you can finish your hours, and if we cannot place you, the refund terms in your contract apply. This is uncommon, but it is the situation students worry about most, so we would rather you know the plan up front.
How do I know I will get a good preceptor?
We screen carefully and work only with preceptors who prioritize teaching. On the rare occasion a preceptor does not hold up to our standards, we take student input seriously, investigate, and end the working relationship if necessary.
How do you make sure my school will accept the preceptor?
Schools accept our preceptors at a high rate. In the rare case one is not accepted, contact us and we will investigate. The problem is usually solvable. If it is not, we will find you a replacement preceptor or refund your money.
Please reach out to us if you have any additional inquiries. We look forward to hearing from you!
